MANILA —The Municipality of Maramag is proud to announce its fourth consecutive win of the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award.

The award, a hallmark of excellence in local governance, was bestowed by the Department of the Interior Local and Local Government (DILG) and personally received by Maramag Mayor Atty. Jose Joel P. Doromal, together with Vice Mayor Atty. Maribeth Estrella-Lopez.

The Municipality of Maramag’s success in receiving the SGLG Award for the fourth time is a clear indication of its continuous pursuit of excellence in various indicator areas.

It reflects the strong leadership, transparent governance, and unwavering dedication of its officials and employees to serving the Maramagnons.

The awarding ceremony was held at the Manila Hotel on December 14, 2023, in the presence of DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos, Jr., who also presented the award.

The event saw the attendance of other LGU awardees, celebrating the hard work and dedication of local governments across the nation.

Joining Mayor Doromal were MLGOO Elena B. Rabaya, the LGU’s Department Heads, along with the different focal persons, each playing a pivotal role in meeting the rigorous criteria set by the DILG for the said award.

These criteria span across essential areas such as financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness, environmental management, and cultural development.

The additional prize of PHP 1.8 million is a significant boost, earmarked for enhancing the municipality’s priority projects.

This financial incentive underscores the government’s commitment to encourage and support local governments in their pursuit of excellence and sustainable development.

Mayor Doromal expressed his deep appreciation for this recognition and the additional funding, saying, “This award, along with the prize, is not just a symbol of our commitment to good governance but also a valuable resource that will help us further our development projects.

This award is a recognition of our collective efforts to make Maramag a better place for everyone. It inspires us to strive even harder to serve our constituents with integrity and efficiency.”

The Municipality of Maramag, known for its proactive governance and community-driven initiatives, continues to be a shining example of effective local governance.

With this added financial support, Maramag is set to embark on new projects that will further benefit its residents and contribute to its vision of a thriving, inclusive community, making it a truly Maanyag one.
